Fisch Solutions is one local Hudson Valley business out of 10,000 businesses worldwide selected for the Goldman Sachs 10K Small Businesses program. The program is one of the biggest initiatives by Goldman Sachs, a $500 million dollar investment in small businesses to grow their revenue and allow them to hire more personnel. Fisch is one out of 30 businesses selected locally in the tri-state region for the cohort.
The Goldman Sachs 10,000 Small Businesses ( www.GoldmanSachs.com/citizenship/10000-small-businesses/us/ ) involves a 6-month education and mentoring program that is as close as you can get to a MBA within 6 months. The program was created and is chaired by such business heavyweights as Warren Buffet, Goldman Sachs CEO Lloyd Blankfein, Harvard Business School President Dr. Michael Porter, and the Former US Secretary of Education Margaret Spellings. The goals of the program are to create jobs and economic opportunity to small businesses by providing them education, mentoring, and access to financial capital. Now a quarter through the 3 year initiative, the program has generated great success with 64 percent of businesses increasing revenue, 45% adding new jobs, and 80% doing business with each other within a year of graduating the education portion.
“I am looking forward to this great opportunity and feel that it will help our business grow even more”, Owner and President of Fisch Solutions, Jason Fisch, commented on his firm being selected for the program. The program is hosted locally at the NY Designs facility in Queens, NY, a small business development center that host many similar programs and serves as a local business incubator. Businesses are chosen all around the world from an application process that involves two rounds of application and information submissions as well as an in-person interview. After which committees vet businesses from the three rounds of interviews and select around 30 businesses per cohort.
