Fisch Internet Solutions has been awarded the Dutchess County Economic Development Corporation 2012 Business Excellence Award (BEA) for Innovation. One of the highest business honors in the region, Fisch proudly receives the award at a ceremony at the Grandview in Poughkeepsie on October 16th. FIS is the recipient of this years award for being an innovator of information technology in the region with its Spotted Dog ROVER platform.
The ROVER system, a project with Trumbull Software located in Monroe, CT, is a online based software product for fire departments and related emergency agencies. The web-based software allows communication that once was not available to responders allowing them to make critical decisions. Information such as where an incident is, who is responding, a map of the response with fire hydrants, alerts for hazards, and related data are all pushed to responders to their mobile devices and on screens in the firehouse and fire apparatus. This invaluable information allows responders to make initial size-up decisions as well as resource planning before they even get to the incident.
Currently used by thousands of responders each day, the system continues to grow in popularity. With new features added regularly, Fisch hopes to grow the product so it is used by every agency in the region. This product as well as the other services and initiatives Fisch Internet Solutions makes each day to its clients have earned it a BEA award.
